The 1362 square foot Swindon RTM is not super large but it’s still a three bedroom with 2 baths and has all you need in a home. There are dual entrances into the foyer, one from the garage and one from the front exterior of the house. The entrance will also have a covered entrance to shelter anyone entering the home.
From our designer Sharon Bailey: “This is a different design than the usual for us. This home is designed for the city or town with the garage out front*. While it does have a rake head window it’s not to the degree we usually do them for country and cabin builds.”
The master bedroom window area is cantilevered and the walls are angled which allows for more window area on a wall that is in close proximity to the neighbour. This is because there are restrictions on the percentage of the surface area of a side wall that can be glass. While angled walls take up more of square footage they look great. And there are plenty of angled walls in the hallway bedroom area.
There is a sloped closet at the end of the staircase opening to allow for more headroom when going down the stairs. This is beneficial when you are limited to square footage and need the room for the stairs. Closet is still really useable, but just not the floor of it.
This home is designed with a double vault on the inside which will be visually appealing from the inside. There’s the main vault that runs thru the whole main area and then a second vault running the opposite way. But just in the living room area around the rakehead window. This gives the house a much larger feel due to the high ceilings.
