This home design is popular with our customers and is the third version of the Somerset we have built the last couple of years. It is the wow factor home design that our customers like – twelve foot walls in main area and then a vaulted ceiling giving it approximately sixteen feet to the highest point. It also has an abundance of windows!
How this home is different from the other two is that the front of the house is going to be the dining room area with no entrance and the living room on the opposite side facing the lake. The layout for the Somerset 3 has the Kitchen / Mudroom / Laundry on one side and two bedroom and master bedroom on the other.
Walking into the mudroom, you then walk through the big pantry and into the kitchen. The pantry has a lot of space in here and just to add to how great this pantry is, there’s a jog in the wall to add an upright freezer.
In the kitchen there is a huge 9 foot by 4 foot Caesarstone White Attica granite island — our largest to date! There are also cabinets on the seating side of the island, which adds to storage space. Also check out the cool light fixtures above the island. This kitchen has a lot to offer. theres a custom spice rack cabinet beside the pantry, garbage cabinet, cookie sheet cabinet, and utensil holder beside the stove. Then there’s glass cabinets with glass shelves and lighting inside to add more character to the kitchen. This is a chefs dream!
The dining room and living room area is where the wow factor explodes, and is very grand with the walls starting at twelve feet and going over sixteen feet tall. You may think the vaulted ceiling is the main focal point of this room but guess again — there is this grand propane fireplace with the walls covered in Hacket Black Creek stone finish. Then there’s some very tall built-in bookcase cabinets on both sides of the fireplace. consist of closed cabinets to open shelving to glass uppers.
The customers were replacing an old family built cabin with this new home, and it was tough tearing down something that had been in the family for so long and that was built by the dad. So to remember the old cabin the customers supplied some timber from their old cabin and we fashioned a custom mantle from it — it is nice to have a piece of family history in their new place.
The bathrooms also feature the same quartz countertops as the kitchen which keeps things flowing through the house. In the bathrooms there are custom framed mirrors to match the island cabinets in gun metal grey oak. The ensuite has a freestanding soaker tub, one piece shower, and an extra long vanity with his and her sinks.
The exterior of the home has stone finish on both sides of the main vaulted area which matches the fireplace. Now thats going to look amazing when you’re on the lake in Flin Flon and come across this house. There is Kaycan Timberlake vinyl siding and colour matched shakes. From the kitchen theres a door that will access a very large deck across the whole lakeside of the house.
